BY CAR

From the WestFrom Interstate 90, take Exit 24 to Interstate I-87. Take Exit 7 from I-87 and continue as stated below.From the North, South and EastFrom I-87 take Exit 7 toward Troy. Follow signs for I-787 (first red/blue signs then change to black/white) toward Cohoes. In Cohoes, turn RIGHT into Ontario Street (NY 470 East) toward Troy. Cross two bridges, The second bridge is ends in 112th Street in Troy. Proceed to the traffic light at Second Avenue. Turn LEFT at the light. Proceed two blocks to 114th Street. Turn LEFT into 114th Street. The Melville House of the Lansingburgh Historical Society will be on your left at First Avenue. First Avenue is a one-way street going south (left). Parking is free on both 114th Street and First Avenue.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION (CHECK FIRST AS THESE ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

GREYHOUND/TRAILWAYS BUS STATION - Take CDTA bus #22 from south side of State Street at Pearl Street (about a five minute walk from the Greyhound/Trailways Bus Station). Get off the CDTA #22 in Troy at Fulton and Fourth Street. Take the CDTA bus #85 (toward Waterford). Get off at 114th Street at Second Avenue. Walk one block west (toward First Avenue/the Hudson River). Melville House is at the intersection of 114th St. and First Avenue.
ALBANY/RENSSELAER AMTRAK STATION - Take CDTA bus #114 or #214 to Broadway at Peter Kiernan Plaza in Albany. Get on CDTA bus #22 going toward Troy (east side of Broadway). Get off the CDTA #22 in Troy at Fulton and Fourth Street. Take the CDTA bus #85 (toward Waterford). Get off at 114th Street at Second Avenue. Walk one block west (toward First Avenue/the Hudson River). Melville House is at the intersection of 114th St. and First Avenue.
